Moving into stillness is the essence of Yoga Practice. For meditation practice we need to be able to still the body in  order to be able to start stilling the mind. Sitting comfortably is essential, then we can begin. The stool enables the lower back to remain lengthened and keeps the posture relaxed yet gently lifted.

The stool is also very helpful for practices in a sitting position offering stability, whilst undertaking gentle postures for the body, such as neck and shoulder exercises.  The slightly angled stool enables you to sit in a relaxed cross-legged position with the spine comfortably straight, relaxed and yet alive.

Beautifully hand made stools with a fixed firm sustainable wooden base, foam padded, upholstered in velvet cotton fabric.

Available in red, green or blue.

Please specify colour.

Testimonial

A good posture for meditation is primarily one in which the head, neck and trunk can be carefully and comfortably aligned without causing stress or difficulty.

Many people do not find it easy to sit on the floor and maintain a good posture with a straight back.

The Happy Monk Stool, designed and made by Sarah and David Holland, provides a simple and practical answer.

The upholstered yet firm seat is raised 3” off the floor at a slight angle which allows for a good sitting position and for the knees to rest on the floor.

I have used one for several years and recommend it for people to try.
